BLK Celebration 2019 Performer – Danielle Boots presents ISIS!

At BLK Celebration’s 2019’s GODLIKE show,

Danielle Boots

will bring us

The Mother Goddess Isis

isis2

Isis has made an appearance at every Black Lotus Kult performance, most recently at BLK Celebration 2018 in Chicago. Kindle Cimmerian’s performance helped illustrate Caroline Wise’s talk “The Blood Red Cord of Isis” (which caused a stir with the TSA, until the Goddess let them know that it was OK).

We are very excited to announce that the Isis-tradition continues through the skills of the lovely and talented Danielle Boots.

In reflecting about Isis, Danielle shared the following,

“She is the epitome of the divine feminine. She is the Protector. She is the Nurturer. She is the lover. She is the strong. She is the wise.  She is the Goddess Isis!”

Isis.jpg

Danielle Boots is a diverse dancer who has been dancing in the Central Florida area for the past 9 years. She loves the beauty, flow and grace of oriental dance, and the strong, luscious fluidity of tribal fusion. Both styles consume her heart whenever she dances. Danielle aims to capture your heart with her performance at GODLIKE – An Evocative Evening, inspired by the Mother, Lover, Protector, Healer – the Goddess Isis.

At BLK Celebration’s 2019’s GODLIKE show,

Veronica Lynn

will bring us

Qetesh – Goddess of Sacred Ecstasy

Veronica Photographed by Barnacle Media

At this year’s GODLIKE show,  Veronica Lynn will take us back to the Bronze Age, by bringing Qetesh to the stage! Originally a Canaanite deity of love and desire, Qetesh gained popularity in New Kingdom-era Egypt as a goddess of sacred pleasure and fertility. While many depictions of Egyptian deities are in profile, Qetesh is seen facing forward, nude, riding on the back of a lion, with snakes in her left hand and lotus flowers in her right. That’s our kind of goddess!

Veronica Lynn

Based in Austin, TX Veronica Lynn will bring Qetesh to life at our GODLIKE show through a jazzy 1930’s modern dance/showgirl interpretation of this deity.

Veronica is an instructor, performer and costume designer, with a background in tribal fusion dance. She is deeply interested in the incorporation of historic dances and costuming into contemporary dance styles.

BLK Celebration 2019 Performers – Misha & the ShimmyBoom Tribe present HECATE

At BLK Celebration’s 2019’s GODLIKE show,

Misha & the ShimmyBoom Tribe

will bring us

Hecate – Maiden, Mother, and Crone

misha1.jpg

“In our dance we honor Hecate, for her bright shining light even in the darkest of times, her wisdom to embrace change, and her magical and mystical ways. Hecate reminds us to change and embrace transitions, don’t worry about the dust, or what others think of you, do the things you’ve always wanted to do, for you, embrace the changes that come with aging and be grateful you can still dance through life.

While our invocation of this Goddess honors her Greek form, she is a power that has been known to many cultures throughout the ages. She is the guardian of the crossroads, the woman who is both wise and wondering, shifting through all aspects of a woman’s journey. She is the dark Queen of Witches, Goddess of the Moon, and a guide in the Underworld, supporting other women, in the form of Persephone, even in the darkest of times. Her magic is legendary, and she has one foot in this world and one in the next as she has dominion over ghosts and spirits.”

misha2

Misha

Misha is the Director for Shimmyboom and Caravan Project Sarasota and teaches both regular classes and professional dance certifications in the Sarasota/Bradenton area as well as worldwide. She is a Priestess of the Sacred Earth, an Elemental Enchantress who speaks the ancient language of flowers and foxes, both in dance and visual art, to help people connect deeply with nature and find their wild souls. She combines her training in Shamanic energy work and storytelling together with over a decade of deep study in multiple forms of bellydance to create dances rich in movement, texture, and lore.

Misha will bring her ShimmyBoom Tribe to dance for us from Sarasota, Florida. This group of dancers of all ages and backgrounds gathers together to perform their own special sassy and spirited brand of improvisational tribal bellydance in the Gypsy Caravan format. Together they “speak” an intricate dance language that, once learned, allows dancers to communicate in the moment and improvise to the music, creating a beautiful dance that flows from the heart. Tribal bellydance is rooted in many different dance forms; watch closely and you will see familiar moves of bellydance along with inspiration from Flamenco and other world dances.

BLK Celebration 2019 – Caroline Wise Returns!

Caroline Wise provided many highlights of last year’s Chicago BLK Celebration. It is our honour to have her back for BLK Celebration 2019

Caroline Wise

presents

Finding the Deer Mother in the Cults of the Shadows

Elen

Much of the light that has been cast on the mysteries of the goddess Elen of the Ways has come from the research of Caroline Wise. In this talk, she will inform and involve the audience while delving into animal masks and forms that cloak our earliest deities, following the deer goddess across the earth and sky, with her allies and foes.

Caroline

Caroline inaugurated the re-publishing of Kenneth’s Grant‘s books in the late 1980s which paved the way for his the unpublished works to see the light. She has been an occult bookshop owner, a psychic quester, and priestess of the goddess, who has contributed to several books – on goddesses, on Florence Farr, and on Legendary London. She compiled the book Finding Elen, the Quest for Elen of the Ways, about the forgotten deer goddesses.

In providing information regarding this posting, she also mentioned that she is “rather fond of The Black Lotus Kult“.

We love you too Caroline!

In a collaboration with Black Lotus KultKindle Cimmerian and Caroline have created a special illustrative performance to accompany this talk to bring the Goddess into the room.

BLK Celebration 2018 – Caroline Wise presents “Nuit, Isis and the Nu-Isis Lodge”

We had the honour of viewing the Caroline Wise production of a Florence Farr play in Seattle, Washington and we later performed a special Elen of the Ways ritual for her at a past Black Lotus Kult Celebration.

It is our great pleasure to announce that Caroline will present at BLK Celebration 2018

She will bring to us – “Nuit, Isis and the Nu-Isis Lodge”

There has been speculation and misunderstanding about the Nu-Isis Lodge over the decades. Caroline discusses the rituals of the Nu-Isis Lodge, their structure and purpose. She also explores the goddesses Nuit and Isis through the Typhonian Thelemic lens, showing their relevance to magicians – especially women magicians – today. Will include a visualization exercise based on one of the rituals.

Please see the BLK Celebration’s Facebook page HERE to let us know you are coming and to read updates and details regarding these events.

Caroline Wise instigated the republishing of Kenneth Grant’s books at Skoob Esocterica in 1989, which led to previously unpublished works coming into the light, including Grant’s novellas. She co-edited ‘The Secret Lore of London’ with John Matthews (Hodder and Stoughton 2016) and has contributed to several books on the goddesses of the Ancient World; on Austin Osman Spare, tarot artist Pamela Coleman Smith, and on magician Florence Farr, whose Egyptian themed plays she produced at The Rudolph Steiner Theatre in 1993. She gives talks and workshops on the goddesses in Britain, and in USA, Germany and Italy. She works with Starfire Publishing and has a special interest in the work of Kenneth Grant.
